This year, as in the past when the state participates in the General Elections, the HSLC and
HSSLC Examinations were postponed. For some, it was a reprieve, for others, a necessary
irritant to be endured. Thankfully, there were no further delays like paper leaks, and civil
demonstrations etc. The Board examinations were conducted peacefully without further ado. Now we sit back and wait with baited breath (for the results to come out on time!)
Some of the HSLC-appeared students, ten in all, to be precise, went on an excursion soon after their exams were over. The MD, the Principal, along with Ms. Aphrezoü, Mr. Kekhriengulie, and Mr. Kapani accompanied the students on a 6-day tour to Siliguri, Darjeeling and Gangtok in Sikkim.
Needless to say, everyone had a wonderful time, but everybody thought
that the trip should have been extended to at least two nights in one place.
It was a thoroughly hectic but memorable trip for all. Reports from the

AVILA REPORTS : “It was a fun experience travelling with friends teachers,
Principal and Chairman. The people at the CRC Mission at Siliguri were very kind and hospitable. The best prt was, we got “Naga Food!” Darjeeling was cold the first night (incidentally, we left the next day) In fact it was freezing. But we Kümali, Leeye, Kuotsiavi , Kenyüni and I with Ms. Aphrezoü took pictures to update our friends and make them jealous. And yes! Our plans succeeded. I can’t say that Siliguri is clean but Darjeeling and Gangtok were so very clean. The roads were good too. I wonder if our roads will ever be as good as theirs.
On the way to Darjeeling from Siliguri, we had tea at a cafe called Margaret’s Deck. If you visit Darjeeling any time, I recommend you visit Margaret’s Deck the ‘Teapot’. I just want to thank the school for taking us on this amazing trip. Thank you. 10A’17
For Mezhüdilhou, this trip was of ‘epic’ proportions. He reports this journey in five lines!!
The trip to Siliguri was epic. The trip began on the 23rd of March. First we moved from
Kohima around 6.30 pm and reached Dimapur at 10 pm approximately. We departed
around midnight and reached Siliguri around noon. We stayed at the CRC Mission Centre the next day we left for Darjeeling and spent the night there. The following day we left for Gangtok in the afternoon. We reached Gangtok around 5-6 pm. Then after breakfast, the next day, we returned to Siliguri. On the 27th we boarded the train back to Dimapur . we rested for some time at the Acacia Hotel and later made our way back to Kohima around 10 am. Thank you. Ruopfüzhazo 10B ‘17.
Sounds like you too, had an “awesome” time. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems to me that all you did was travel- eat and – sleep-travel. Anyhow, we’re glad you had a good time with your friends. Report from Kuotsiavi: It was my first time being away from home with friends and teachers and also my first time visiting those places- Siliguri, Darjeeling and Gangtok. It was so much fun and exciting. In fact it was splendid. The trip was educative as well as refreshing as it washed away my worries and tensions of awaiting the results of the recently-appeared Matric exams… well for a few days at least. The hospitable nature of the people there was eye-opening. All these three places were amazing, but Gangtok tops my list and is a place I would love to visit again. Thank you. 10 A’17
Our trip to Siliguri Darjeeling and Gangtok was a pleasant one. It was a very good experience for me as well as for all went along. Apart from visiting memorials and the shopping sprees, the trip has taught me a lot of things. It has helped me to mature as a person and enlightened me with many lifeexperiences. It has enabled me to become a better person. I will remember this trip also for all the fun and exciting times we had. I’m thankful to the Principal and the Chairman who have made this trip possible. The trip to Siliguri, Darjeeling and Gangtok was a different experience since it was with friends. Frankly, I did not expect it to be as amazing as it turned out to be! Travelling on the train for 12 hrs. was the most challenging, but it was a profitable experience. I’ve noticed that the people in those three places we visited have very good civic sense. The hospitality accorded to us by the local people was heart-warming. I appreciate the hard work and sacrifice of the people at the Mission Centre, all for the cause of their ministry. Gangtok is a beautiful place and I loved the Red/Black tea which was available in Darjeeling. (Surely you mean the world-famous Darjeeling Green Tea? The poor lad must be confused. Perhaps he is still jet-lagged from the 2×12 hrs ride!)
I believe that through this trip, those of us who travelled together have formed stronger bonds with one another. Safe to say that I, for one, have left a piece of myself in those beautiful places and I will return one day to experience it all over again. I would advise my juniors to take such trips if they ever get the opportunity to go. The teachers-in charge were very friendly and kind to us, they took very good care of us, making sure that we had a comfortable trip. I want to thank the school authorities in a special way- the Principal, Chairman and the Teachers, for looking after us so well, making this trip an experience of a lifetime.
